2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe An Icon Goes Electric
Jeep's first-ever plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) experience is brought to drivers across Canada with the new 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe. Pronounced as "4 by e," the off-road experience is now powered by a 2.0-litre turbo PHEV engine and 17 kWh lithium-ion battery pack.
Jeep made a big commitment by offering its iconic Wrangler nameplate to its first PHEV, and it paid off in a big way. Drivers can now explore the world around them in an environmentally conscious way with more power than ever before.
The 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is powered by a 2.0-litre I4 DOHC direct-injection Turbo PHEV, a 17-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, regenerative brake booster, and eight-speed automatic transmission. Together, these features provide an all-electric driving range up to 34 km and a total hybrid driving range up to 595 km.For drivers worried that a PHEV cannot match the performance of a gas-fueled vehicle, the Wrangler 4xe is more actually powerful than the regular Wrangler. A combined 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque is generated by the PHEV system, which exceeds almost all other engine options for the 2021 Wrangler.
Everybody knows the saying "everything you can do, I can do better," and while it is not exactly true of the Wrangler 4xe, it still comes to mind. That is because the 4xe can do everything that the gas-powered Wrangler can do and then some. For off-roading, climbing, and steep descents, the 4xe is ready, willing, and able. It can tackle, in all-electric mode even, steep rocky climbs, deep sand arroyos, and rutted, rocky ledges. The electric torque and regenerative braking make for an even smoother riding experience.
The exterior design of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe is incredibly similar to its gas-powered siblings: rough and rugged yet refined. It is easily distinguished from other Wranglers thanks to its special Electric Blue accents on the exterior, which flow seamlessly inside with Electric Blue stitching on the seats and trim panels.
Most everything else remains the same, including the ability to remove the roof and doors from the 4xe. It provides the same experience for drivers, just with something different under the hood.
Drivers will stay seamlessly connected in the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4XE, which offers convenient connection and superb sound through the Uconnect 4C NAV infotainment system with 8.4-inch touchscreen and nine-speaker premium audio system. Standard across the lineup are Apple CarPlay and Android integration, Siri Eyes Free, SiriusXM, Bluetooth, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
Jeep provides over 75 standard and available safety and security features for the 2021 Wrangler 4xe. Drivers are provided with a ParkView Rear Back Up Camera and can equip the Wrangler 4xe with additional driver-assist features, such as forward collision warning, adaptive cruise control, and more.
A first look at the 2021 Jeep Wrangler 4xe shows that it is a more capable, more fuel efficient, and more precise off-roading masterpiece than the gas-powered version. Jeep has a winner on its hands, hitting the ball far out of the park with the first PHEV Wrangler model. With power and efficiency, even the most enthusiastic off-roaders will be hooked.
