What-to-do-after-Accident

A car accident is always a stressful experience, even if there's no injury to you and little damage to your vehicle. But there's no need to make the situation worse than it already is. This simple guide on what to do after a collision will help you get back on the road as quickly and easily as possible, showing you which steps you should take straight after the incident, and then how to schedule a full collision repair from our expert team.

Immediately After the Collision

If there's any sign of injury, call 911 immediately. But otherwise, if the damage is relatively minor and your vehicle can be driven away, follow these steps.

Exchange details with the other driver, including ID and insurance information.

Immediately After the Collision   Using your phone, take a video of both cars to gain a permanent record of any damage. Be sure to cover the whole of each vehicle, including the license plates.

Take the contact details of any witnesses to the collision.

Notify your insurance provider as soon as you can, once you've returned home.

You'll also need to report the accident to your local police district office if there was no officer on the scene.

You'll need to supply full details of:

Scheduling Repairs

Once the immediate aftermath of the collision has passed, Auto Canada can help you with repairs and the insurance claim that covers them. Our expert damage appraisal service can give you a speedy estimate of the total repair cost, followed by a firm quote to pass to your insurer.

As soon as possible after your accident, call us for a quote on a full repair using only OEM components, and if you have any worries about the insurance claims procedure, our experience will help you file a successful claim.

Once your claim is approved, our collision centre can return your vehicle to its previous condition or better, with all our locations staffed by experienced technicians who work to the highest industry standards. We'll even supply a courtesy car until your vehicle is fully roadworthy again. Lastly, our multiple locations and network of approved parts dealers means we can make the repairs without delay, getting you back behind the wheel with as little inconvenience as possible.
